William Heughan set up the William Heughan Associated Special Trust in December 1956 to remember his home town of Dalbeattie, Scotland, with the purpose of supporting the young and elderly residents and the community in general.
The Trustees must ensure that grants follow the wishes of William Heughan, namely to support:
- Old people who are natives of Dalbeattie
- Pupils of Dalbeattie schools
- Youth organisations in Dalbeattie
- Other charitable causes in Dalbeattie and Galloway
All requests for grants should be sent to Hall Baird Solicitors, The Old Exchange, Castle Douglas DG7 1TJ.
Grants are considered first by a local Advisory Committee before forwarding to the Trustees for a decision.
